A lot has changed in my life over the past few months; particularly my social life! With big schedule demands from my job and special projects, once I am away from the office, I want to be swallowed up in a bed of pillows. A few weeks ago I treated myself to a little retreat in my backyard at Compass Point Beach Resort!
I usually visit Compass Point to enjoy the food with a view of the ocean but I’ve had the pleasure of relaxing at Windrose Spa and figured that it was time for a re-do! The evening started with a private candlelight dinner on the pier. A personal fave is the red tale snapper paired with veggies.
I’m always running from one errand to the next, one project to the next, one item on the checklist to the next. As a creative, this is the worst formula to live by. Oftentimes we get so caught up with trying to champion every task all the time and in turn it drains you. This retreat did so much good for me. Dinner was followed by a little relaxation by the water before falling asleep in the coziest bed of pillows.
I’ve read time and time again that meditation does the soul good and it is my goal to do more of it this year. I started my morning with meditation on the water and it set the tone for the rest of the day.
You deserve the best care for yourself even if it only comes from you. Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Give your mind, body and soul what it needs, when it needs it.
I was having so much fun I went on a little stroll – bare feet! Compass Point Beach Resort features multicolored huts that give you the feeling on a private island getaway. You can choose a hut close to the pool or an elevated hut facing the water. My rule of thumb is – if you’re going to bask in paradise, you should do it by the water! The property also features a spa fully decked out with beauty products, mani/ pedi services and massage services.
